Purpose

Warmth for the Weekend is a seasonal service initiative created to bring comfort, nourishment and a sense of home to mothers and children staying at the shelter. TRNF will provide a warm weekend meal during September, October and November, with an opportunity to add a thoughtful Weekend Nesting Bag in September and October when fundraising allows.

Through a monthly "This or That" Penny Wars fundraiser, the community helps choose which meal will be served. Each vote helps fund the winning meal; funds remaining after the meal is covered can help Fill the Nest with a cozy weekend treat.

How the Series Works

• Two seasonal meal options are presented each month.

• Supporters vote through the Penny Wars fundraising campaign.

• The winning meal becomes that month's shelter service meal.

• The warm meal is funded first; qualifying overflow can help Fill the Nest in September and October.

• TRNF volunteers prepare, package and deliver the selected meal and optional Nesting Bags.
